Critics’ Acclaim

Craters Edge has beautifully drawn full color backgrounds that are reminiscent of Medieval illuminations and paintings with their naive lack of perspective. His whole art style is in the same primitive style. I’ll stick with the naive primitive folk-art approach of Crater's Edge for the win. Just because I kind of like going to Folk Art museums and seeing work freed from convention by virtue of its naivety.

The backgrounds in Craters Edge pretty much ignore any rule of mechanical perspective, but for me, they express Jason's idiosyncratic and sincere way of stylizing the world, so the clarity and sincerity of the style carries the day.
