I agree that The Frolic is very tightly written. It also has a style to it and a mood that is definitely giving that noir vibe. It's creepy, it's horrifying, and it's messing with your mind

The art fits the comic’s disturbed mood well. It’s as deeply dark as “noir” can possibly get.
