"Care Forming?" (In The Style Of Tera Sanders)

Last Friday, I unexpectedly strained my left shoulder and upper arm, also aggravating an old bicycling injury from 1993 (in which I nearly separated my shoulder *shudders just thinking about it*). I went to the doctor on Saturday and fortunately, I didn't tear anything but the doctor confirmed the strain and prescribed pain meds and rest, etc. I managed to get Monday's page up (since it was already about 90% done on Friday anyway) but I knew the injury was going to throw things off for a couple of weeks while I'm recuperating.

I had an idea for a filler strip last week, even before I got hurt. I filed the idea away in my brain, thinking maybe it would be a good "Behind The Scenes" parody page someday. Well, I decided Wednesday that I'd healed enough to try a little penciling – and then the rest of the idea hit me – to do it in another Drunk Duck artist's style! I decided on Tera Sanders' style, as I've been a pretty big fan of her Tera Forming comic. It seemed entirely appropriate and even natural to draw Due East's Carolyn Maye character in Tera's style. It was an unexpected plus that she seemed to even look a little like Tera by the time I finished the last frame.

I'm probably going to have to dream up something similar for Monday or if I can't come up with something tomorrow and Saturday, I may have to skip Monday – but I don't want to! I sincerely hope to get back to Book Three Page 22 by next Friday.
