And she hasn't even gotten to his hair yet.

One of my greatest fears as a writer, and I think any other writers who visit this site will agree with me on this one, is predictability. I've had more than a few ideas in my day that, in the end, just weren't worth attempting on the grounds that everyone knew something like that was bound to happen. There are other times where I just let it slip by, but for the most part it governs a lot of my actions.

The thing about that, though, is that characters are going to act a certain way. Although, as the writer, I decide who and what the character is, there's a certain consistency that I strive for. These characters have defined personalities, and I don't want people to get the impression that they just do whatever is convenient for the story at the time. Fraja's Mom is a bit easier in this regard, since she has a tendency to put up different fronts, so she can act "out of character" without really breaking character.

Ah well, like most rants, this went off on a bit of a tangent. I really should think these things out a bit more before trying to type them. Anyway, today should find yet another Halfway to Dead inked by your Friendly Neighborhood Inkmonkey; this one actually pertains a bit more to the plot then the… whatever the Hell Monday's was.
