#1001 Youth: The Right Choice

I just wanted to start by thanking everyone for their kind words on the 1000th strip. It's been a long time coming, and I honestly wish that my school schedule allowed me to update more regularly so we could have reached this goal sooner. I really wish I could have had the whole archive back up by now, but my internet has been having some trouble with uploading, so I have enough trouble just trying to get E&A posted.

I remember a long time ago I wouldn't start a story arc and let it drag on forever and ever (or as I like to call it, "DBZ Syndrome"). For the most part I've done fairly well in that regard, but some things just can't help but be long form (particularly Fraja's pregnancy).

I think the worst problem I've come across is that I'm still writing the series the same as I did when it was updating 7 days a week. Because of this, anything that would normally happen in a week now takes more than two, and what would normally seem fairly short is stretched out severely.

One of the things that's been bothering me lately is how long it's taking to have the egg hatch. I didn't realize at the time that two story arcs (all we've had since the egg showed up) would drag on for so long. I think perhaps I should have announced my contest plan later than I did, as it's taking forever to get to a point where it's worth holding the final poll.

On the plus side, though, you still have plenty of (read: too much) time to send in names for the baby contest, in case you have any in your head.

Oh, and happy Cinco De Mayo
