#1033 11th Soul: No Touching

I know I said I was going to go for a MWF update schedule this week, but I've got some free time and I'm going to be going daily (or at least trying to). Also, I'm going to be heading out on Tuesday, so updates are gonna get a bit screwy then.

So, i just finished my part time job (working concession at a festival). We were set up in Washington D.C., so after work one day I took the opportunity to do some wandering. We could see the Washington monument, and I chose that as my first destination. The first thing I realized was that it was a lot farther away than I realized, the second thing I realized was that it was really big, and the third thing I realized is that it doesn't do anything.

You have to wonder about that sometimes. Structures like the Washington monument don't really improve anything. If anything, it takes money from other things that may need it. But it's something that makes you stand in awe at the simple fact that something like that could (or would) be made in the first place.

After that, I wandered to the reflecting pool; another impressive structure that doesn't actual serve any real function. This one's a bit nicer, though, because at least there are some ducks and stuff in it, which is good. Unfortunately, it was also surrounded by animal crap. Really screwed up the "majestic" feel it was supposed to have.
