#1068 Piety: The Quick Way

I often wonder at what point a comic goes from being mysterious to just plain confusing. Back in the day I didn't like the idea of having mysteries or long plot threads, so I made a point of concluding any story arc in such a way that the series just sort of "reset" and continued business as usual; more like your standard newspaper comic. The difference is, though, that a newspaper comic has to do this because they're not guaranteed to have the same readers every day. People who read the comics on Monday aren't always the same people who are going to read it on Wednesday, and if they miss part of the story there isn't anywhere selling Monday's newspaper for them to see what they missed (of course, most comics are on the web these days, but that's a whole other discussion). So, I realized that, as a webcomic, my archive is basically always available for people to read, so I wouldn't have to worry about keeping things going because, if someone misses Monday's comic, they can just press the previous button a few times and they're set.
