Interview about Elsewhere

It's always fun to get an idea of what the artist is thinking as he is working on things. I just had this conversation with a good friend of mine and though, you know this would make a rally good interview about what I'm doing in the comic right now.

Joe- I'm trying to finish them off (free lance job) and run an Elsewhere through before the weekend.
At this point everything is going through joe5art.deviantart.com I'm posting the strip their and on drunkduck.com

Mario- Yeah, I've been checking out the drunkduck.com site, and I'm quite impressed.

Joe- It's nice and easy to use.

Mario- Thank you for that recommendation.  Now I gotta find all of mine and post them.

Joe- Laugh, I'll keep an eye open for them. I have some of the old Union pages… somewhere. I've been finding all sorts of weird stuff going through artwork.

Mario- As for "Elsewhere," I especially enjoy the contrast between the oldest episodes and the new ones.  I even checked out the "WhereElse" parody. (—— is responsible, no?).

Joe- He is but doesn't want credit for it.

Mario- At least he won't have to explain it when he gets famous.

Joe- I think the new comic is some of the better stuff I've drawn
But the story is starting to drag.

Mario- I agree about the quality of the drawing.

Joe- It's so busy working to tell the story it's not having enough fun or action on the way.

Mario- Yeah, it's interesting how sometimes a story can get in its own way.  Or maybe your strip has a different story in mind from what you've envisioned.  Hey, it's happened plenty to me.

Joe- I've already told myself I want to rap it up in issue #4, about 9 more pages.

Mario- I wish you the best on that one.

Joe- Well I want to return them home and resolve it for now.
It's not going to all get neatly resolved and put behind them. This is going to be over them for a long time. It's going to affect Walter.

Mario- Other than returning him to high school (again)?

Joe- They get back to about where they started but the loop is still there and they know it.
Walter knows he needs to be able to deal with it.
Walter help fix the time machine. Water is involved with the time machine.

Mario- Does he ever get back his stuff which Butch sold for his dream-car, I wonder?

Joe- Oh I haven't sorted that. maybe all the time messing will take care of that and fill there candy jar. LOL

Mario- Yeah, you could easily explore a number of avenues opened up by the main storyline.

Joe- Yea, there are some hints dropped and it will be revisited again and resolved but the big hint is the two Walters are working on the Time Machine.

Mario- Okay.  I won't tell a soul.

Joe- Well, I might. people seem to be more interested in getting back to the strip and more humor. This has been a great growing and learnig experience for me to do all these comic pages but part of me wants to get back to the strip format as well. Though I might keep the page layout more like a comic page size.

*The artwork is a recently rediscovered piece from about 1994. The last alien story was actually done like a children's book and is the bases for all the time traveling story that I'm reintroducing now. The color is newly added.
