Steve Levitt wrote _Freakonomics_. Bryan and I saw him speak back in September. He talked about prostitution - it was highly inappropriate for the situation, and thus hilarious, but he was also an entertaining speaker who made some good points.

In writing this comic I actually read a preliminary paper he has cowritten which suggests that most prostitutes make more than I used to ($25-30/hr in Chicago) and work about 13 hours per week. But there are a lot more risks to that than to technical writing.
