Thanks for stoppin' by and checking out another weekly installment of Endstone.

First off I wanted to thank again the powers that be at Drunk Duck for featuring Endstone. I am deeply grateful. And I wanted to especially thank those who were reading and commenting since the early pages, and I also wanted to welcome any new readers aboard. Your support means a great deal to me.

Commentary: This page is setting the scene while laying the groundwork for what is to come next. So pull up a chair…. more is to come.

Some notes on the setting: Without giving anything away, the city of St. Louis shown here is obviously home to an iron-age or medieval-type society. The Mississippi River Valley was the center of North American civilization in pre-Columbian times, so I figured that if an iron age society existed in North America, it would be found on the Mississippi/Ohio/Missouri rivers where goods and people could be transported easily. Of course, I'm not going to go into "why" it's called St. Louis, you'll just have to hopefully keep reading. : )

I'm not sure how to respond to all the comments from last week. I hope this is appropriate:

—–Thanks for stopping by everyone. I really love getting comments and I read all of them. I just wanted to give a shout out to you all and say thanks so much. Some of you are long time readers, some are new. I appreciate all of you taking the time to leave a comment.

@chaves - thanks for the crits. I agree that the "stone names" sometimes get confusing. Maybe I could hyphenate them. Bane-stone, End-stone, etc. They might be easier to read but then I'd have to change the title. I don't know. And also there are too many characters, I agree. I may have to kill some off. ; )

@Abt Nihi and @ Ben Ferrari - thanks so much for the art compliments. I greatly appreciate it. And I really am coming at this a little late in life and I feel I've still got a lot to learn. I've got a ton of art books I've immersed myself into like Loomis, Hamm, Hogarth, Buscema, etc. And if I can't get a pose I make sure to reference everything I can —especially hands and faces. Because of this, it takes me forever to complete a page.

@machinehead and @plymayer - thanks for stopping by. I wish comics were still only 40 cents. In fact, I can't believe how expensive they are today and this is one of the reasons I think the internet will eventually take over most of the distribution of comics. Kids (or their parents) just can't afford to follow a book anymore. But then again, what do I know? Just wondering and hoping for the growth of webcomics I guess.

@amanda - Thanks. Pablo Montaigne will return definitely in this issue. He's my favorite - as you can tell by my avatar ; )

@darkwaterfrey and @Hyena Hell - Old skool rulz! You know you're old-skool when you spell old-skool as "old school. "

@The Gravekeeper - Thanks. I'm not too familiar with the Ghouls (I'm a classic rock kind of guy) but any song about "Rotgut" sounds awesome.

@crazyduck - thanks. I really like those old comics where they had the characters heads in the corners. And sometimes the characters were in these strange, UN-dynamic poses that were too lame for me to even copy here without looking lame myself (if that makes sense).

Anyhow, keep on keepin' on and I hope to see you next week!
