Endstone

Author notes

Issue 3 Page 1
repoman onHowdy folks! This is going up late since I couldn't get in to edit my pages all weekend and most of Monday due to the Drunk Duck deep freeze.
Nothing much to say about this page other than I'm real excited to finally get to this part of the story. I'm having a brawl drawing this stuff – sorry bad pun.

Responses from last week's comments:
plymar , Zephyrion , Lemniskate - thanks folks.
Andaren - Hopefully having the characters related helps to ratchet-up the tension and relevance. You'll know the end of this story arc is coming when all four of the characters in the logo are going at it.
Doctor Shadow - Thanks. And the technical issues continue this week.
Phillby - Stuff is going down, up, and every which-way and I'm having fun drawing it.
cyberdog - Thanks again for checking out Endstone.net, cyberdog. I've thought about going with just with the website, but I enjoy the DD community too much to stop posting here.
armandoB - Thank you sir.
khard12 - Herrik has a big part to play in this issue. And I got a kick that you recognize him and remember his name. My goal is to make memorable characters. I don't know if I will succeed, but that's the goal. So thanks.
Ironscarf - When I drew my own comics in grade school, my favorite part was drawing that little Marvel character box in the upper left corner. The old style covers for Endstone started as a bit of joke but are becoming a tradition. When I go to print, I'm not sure if I'l keep the old-style design or not so this might be the last Marvel cover.
machinehead , Streetknight , AzuJOD , SoItBegins , Brogan ,
and Crimsonskystudio[/b - Thanks for stopping by again folks. You know I appreciate it.
seanb47 So you're West-Coaster as well, seanb47? Cool. And thanks for taking the time to read that interview and leave a comment. I appreciate that.
Hurricane Ivan - Is there a reason that animals are human? Good question. Within the world I created for Endstone, there are two reasons why the animals ended up looking human. But if I told you I'd give away part of the plot so you'll have to keep reading. : ) As for why I , as the author, chose to make the animals look human I also have two reasons. 1. One of the themes I'd like to explore with Endstone deals slavery, prejudice, and class division in society. making the animals human-looking helps tell that tale. 2. I like fantasy settings and characters like elves and dwarves and goblins, but I didn't want to make a Tolkein based world, so I sort of combined anthro-comics with Tolkein archetypes, if that makes sense.
DragonDeadite and mattchee - thanks again.
See you next week and keep on keepin' on.
