This week I'm exchanging links with the webcomic Carnies. The comic is featured here on Drunk Duck and the creator is The Gravekeeper. The comic tells the tale of a macabre cast of freaks who must battle a host of flesh eating undead. It's funny, violent, and darn cool. Check it out:

Commentary

The "rock this" sequence with Kyri kicking Cole into a wall wasn't in the original script. It happened while I was in the middle of drawing the page so I changed course and rolled with it. Sometimes you have to let the characters take over and lead you into new directions. It makes doing this webcomic fun.

Also, the first mention of "groupies" is here. Stoners usually attract an entourage of one or more followers. The groupies are sometimes stoners themselves, looking to learn the craft, and sometimes they're simply enamored by the power. As for why the stoners need groupies, that will be revealed towards the end of this issue. The gang following Toadstone at the end of Issue 2 were groupies. Zigfred and Ray (from issue 1 and 2) are Cole's groupies.

Responses from last week's comments:
plymar ,dueeast ,Brogan ,Juvenile Jay - Thanks so much again for stopping by. I appreciate it.
MeHighLow - Thanks. I always liked comics and TV shows that gave a recap at the beginning. Even if I was up to date on the story. Plus with only one update a week, stuff that would normally be read in one sitting (an issue) were posted about six months ago.
Doctor Shadow , harryq , Crimsonskystudio, Andaren , Peipei - Thanks folks. I appreciate your comments and ratings.
Lemniskate and theends - Jon was sort of a Rastafarian type character before he got religion. We'll see more of his history in future issues.
amanda - LOL. Very astute. Jon does have the Firestone. The question is what role will he play in this battle?
armandoB - Jon and Kyri's relationship would be the equivalent of bestiality in our world. So they had (have) alot of issues and prejudice to deal with. Hopefully I can explore more of that in the future.
SoItBegins , seanb47, Zephyrion , theBSDude - Thanks for your continued support.
mattchee - In the past few weeks I've gotten away from diagonal panels and started using tilted panels like on this page. I'll probably eventually abandon the technique but right now it's all the rage in repo-land.
cyberdog - We were thinking the same thing these past few weeks regarding meta-panels. It's the first time I've used the technique (I didn't even know there was a name for it). I feel instinctively that meta-panels (or "montage" as I call them) are good for jumps in time or fast action. I liked how you used them in Warriorborn.
Streetknight , AzuJOD ,DragonDeadite, I am The 1337 Master , thefightingstranger - Thanks for stopping by!
khard12 - LOL. I can see the episode with Dr. Phil: "My daughter is an evil, seductress hellbent on killing me!"
SCAScot - Thanks. I work hard depicting those gals in the best light possible so I appreciate the comment.
Ironscarf - I say the same thing when I see your pages. So thanks. : )
The Gravekeeper - I never noticed that tangent with Kyri holding up the black flashback area. LOL. I guess If I look at it more, it could also be interpreted that Jon is recoiling from the odor emitting from Kyri's underarm. I gotta' stop or else I'll never be able to draw a scene again without laughing.

See you next week and keep on keepin' on
