Issue 3 Page 14
repoman onThis week marks the return of one Jon Montaigne.
In case you're just tuning in, he's Cole's (Dragonstone's) estranged father and former rocker of the Banestone. Earlier in the scene, Jon declined to help Kyri and Herrik defeat Cole, but I guess he stuck around to make sure things didn't get out of control. He has his own agenda which will be revealed as the story progresses.
And that was sure convenient having the one guy on the planet who can control fire waiting in the wings to help out, wasn't it? Actually, it was a very happy accident. I came up with the idea of Jon getting the firestone much earlier. And as I was writing this current scene, I got to the point where Cole the dragon was going to barbeque Kyri and Herrik and I thought: How the heck are they going to get out of that? And then Jon popped up. It surprised me. It's fun stuff like this that keeps me interested in doing a webcomic.

mattchee - Thanks. I'm still not 100% satisfied with the look of the dragon. I think she looks too small and actually I'm not too sure how big she is compared to the others yet. I have until the middle of Issue 4 to figure it all out. :)
seanb47 - Clint Barton! Hawkeye! However, I have no idea who Ronin is. My comic knowledge freezes after about 1990 unfortunately. But I googled Ronin and he looks cool. And thanks for the props on the dragon art.
Azujod - unfortunately no one got burned this time. But wait until next issue…
SoItBegins - Good point. Are Kyri and Herrik really the heroes? I worry sometimes that Kyri (the main protagonist) is coming off in a bad light. She has a strong desire to do what's right and to make the sacrifices necessary, but is she in the right? In the end the reader will have to decide.
MeHighLow - Thanks for the compliment on the dragon.
Andaren - True. And if your kid is a homicidal monster, it's best not to let them play with anything. Just encourage them to go into finance.
FieryAnimated - Thanks! I wasn't too sure about the perspective on that panel, so I'm glad you commented on it.
TheMidge28 - Thanks. I hope the panel flow was easy to follow.
The Gravekeeper - Excellent points I've often thought about myself. But you're right…. it all comes down to drama and in this case, actually utilizing the one guy standing off screen who can control fire. But I've been thinking about possible scenarios for "death by dragon" as this kind of variety will come into play in the story soon.
cyberdog - LOL. Thanks. And yes these stones are like Skittles in a way. They taste great but wait until you have to pass them….
Ironscarf - Thanks for the comment on the tiny figures. They were fun to draw. And thank god for digital zoom!
JinxMinx - Not bbq yet… but there will be other opportunities soon.
plymayer, Doctor Shadow, Peipei, Zephyrion, machinehead, Hugo Maximo , armandoB - Thanks again, folks. You know I appreciate all of you stopping by.
See you next week and keep on keepin' on.
