A few jokes here and there - you can barely see a dwarf there, and then there's the whole commonality of a fantasy (usually a video game) beginning with the hero waking up.
In some cases, it's after a brief history lesson. I guess he had a dream where he remembered all the stuff he learned in class.
I also had some things covered up that I really wish I could have shown. The poster on the left of his room says "Knight Fight!" (or maybe "Fight Knight!"). The Narrator is covering up a picture of a winking woman. It's supposed to be naughty because she's showing bare arms. OHMAGAW!
I'm gonna be honest, though - the real reason I'm doing this is purely so I can do a fantasy racked with cliches, and write it off as a parody. Because really, that's all I can think of when I come up with a fantasy. Boy on an adventure, meets odd friends, destroys a dark lord. You know the layout. So I pretty much put that stuff into the brief history lesson, so I can screw with it for the entire rest of the series.
Seriously, screwy.
By the way, I wasn't quite sure what to do with the Hero's hair. Most anime tends to have the main character with some sort of implausible, gravity-defying hairstyle, so I decided to play with that. Even though our Hero is probably the most boring part of the series. Which is why I decided against making his hair blue.
