as was vaguely alluded to by Professor Liekin during his first lecture, technology peeked hundreds of years before this comic began and the most advancded of that technology was lost due to war and general distaste for the culture created by that technology. Only a limited number of people have any actual understanding how these technologies work. Forco, like most everyone is not one of those people, instead opting to follow the instructions of old relics, building whatever happens to be on the disks he has.
