While a soul cannot control their element in the same way that a weilder can, any of the magical manifestations that they form can be controlled in rudimentary ways, but this motions must be pre-planned at the moment of the attacks creation. In other words, if young Inferno had misjudged the distance,or Asidius had moved forward, he would have gotten a face full of fire.
