Here's page 12 of Fusion #2. Hopefully this isn't telling too much, but you can kind of get a little feel for the Brooder here in the first panel. Despite his gruff, almost unfriendly attitude toward Fusion, notice how carefully he orchestrated this whole reveal of Captain Stupendous and the Riveter to maximize the surprise factor. And note in the first panel how he hangs back and watches Fusion's reaction. I think he's trying to make this as exciting for her as possible, although he'd certainly deny this .
