No punchline here- sorry. But there is a Batman quote, so I think that balances it out.

What's with the background, you ask? Well, it's to show that they are in the Cloudlands, where gods reside. The base color is pink because they are in the area devoted to love. And love is always pink.

Why don't Kali and Semine and Mutter and Pan live in the Cloudlands? They don't like it up there- too far away from the people (plus, when the Cloudlands remind Kali of her time as a darker goddess, which isn't fun for her). Pan and Mutter are tied to the earth, so can't leave it for long periods of time. Semine prefers to screw with people in person and stick with Kali. And the Lady of the Lake is tied to her Lake. Davy Jones, being a diety-thing personifying the sea, can't really leave the sea (he gets away being on land because they live in a coastal area, and therefore the water table is high, and it's like being over the water.

When someone *pof*s (and I try to make sure only divine characters do so), they go through the Cloudlands for a second, and come out wherever they wanted to go. That's why there are clouds and smoke when someone *pof*s.

Yeah, I've thought about this too much.
