Again, apologies for missing Monday. I've been… how do I put this? Stressful situations tend to put me in a non-creative mood… ironically, when I kind of need that creativity most. This month has been particularly stressful so far.

Why? How? Well, without boring you with details, there have been a few financial issues. And for those of you who just looked, no, I haven't added a Donate button. I'll admit, it's on the to-do list, but when it -does- go up, it will be with the post of "there it is, and this is what I'm giving in return", not an "I need the money" post. I won't do that to you.

To pull myself out of this slump, I've taken a side track, hauling out one of my other mediums: polymer clay. Those who have been to my forum, or glanced at my Facebook page, have probably seen my little clay dragons. They're fun, I'm proficient with them, and I enjoy a modest level of success with them.

But they are about all I do. Minus a few failed fairies, a couple of decent merfolk, and a dryad that became a burned failure… I really haven't done much with the medium.

So I hit the library, checked out a few books, and started playing. One of the books I had dealt with somewhat toon-ish sculptures, and I can state with moderate pride that I did most of the critters in the book. The intent was, one following the directions as closely as possible, one with my own personal twist.

Ummmm… didn't quite work that way. Started running low on clay… and started getting Ideas. So, the wizard following the directions was not followed by -one- with my interpretation… but four. And a frog. I still have one more figure to do to draw it all together. And yes, I'll take pictures when it's done.

And last night, I had the wild hair to do the cast of Eternal Flame… kind of toon-ish at the moment, could still be fun. We'll see.

And for those who -haven't- visited either aforementioned sites… here's a bit of what I've been babbling about:

This is one of my signiture dragons, made for one of my daughter's friends as a baby shower gift:

And a pirate from the book I was talking about. Had fun with him, but ran into a problem. As you can see, he's just a bit too big for my dedicated oven. =l=

The fluff obscuring his legs is to help keep him upright during the baking process.

So that's what's been going on. Still more long-winded than I had planned, but I felt those who have been such loyal readers deserved an explanation.

As always,
Thanks for reading,
Mitz
