I was originally going to have Astor actually say why he was trying
to help her out but that's not really his style. Astor made a promise a
long time ago to protect a very close friend's descendants. Meg just
happens to be the last descendant that Astor has been able to keep an
eye on. There's others but Astor has his limits as much as he likes to
believe that he doesn't.
