KeiganLee337 onGah! Now I remember why I wasn't manually updating on fridays: I work freaking late. By the time I got home, I forgot I was going to update. This week, the plan is to post on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday – all days when I (should) get home at a reasonable hour. And, of course, I'm updating today to make up for missing last friday.
On another note, I'm contemplating switching to a black and white format. Pencil shading would be a huge time saver for me, since it's something I can do on my lunch hour. (My biggest limiter on getting comics completely *done* is a lack of computer time. That's why I have 83 comics drawn and inked, but only 38 colored, texted and posted.) The more steps I can complete prior to scanning, the faster and more reliably I can update. Or, I suppose I could try dong colored pencils again…but I'd have to get a set first, so that's awfully low priority. (Actually, I need to get a set of inking pens – my last good one for borders exploded friday evening, and all of my fine line ones are only 'fine line' because they don't have enough ink for anything thicker any more. Of course, with 83 comics pre-inked, that's pretty low priority, too.)
I'm also thinking about switching from .gifs to .jpgs – I lost a little too much color information in the last few comics (or do their tongues look brown to you guys, Audience? Maybe it's just my screen.) Once upon a time I knew which extension was better n what circumstaces, but I really just don't remember anymore. Well, maybe I'll just try a higher resolution .gif, first – I still want to keep file size down and page loading fast.
And finally…(drum roll please)…I finished the second draft of my book! It now masses 295 pages, with 78 chapters and 101,500 words. All that's left is the final edits – settling on how names are spelled, double checking my timelines and details, and I can start submitting it. Huzzah! (That has been the high priority project, in case the last couple of paragraphs had you wonderng.)
Well, that's all for now.
