Princess Ariel for Katie~ RIP

This late night update is an older picture I drew for one of the children I have come to know with cancer. I knew three children through the organization I was apart of and tonight I just found out that Katie, the last child I met has passed away. This came as quite a shock to me as I used to keep in touch with her family much more then the other children and since July I hadn't heard anything. My last e-mail had bounced back, but they had a blog which I checked all the time. Tonight it said that she died on December 6th. She was 5 I think, and had neuroblastoma- a cancer that only attacks young children. It has a very poor prognosis, but the last I heard she had been doing well.

I'm very shocked and saddened tonight and wanted to immediately do something for her memory. This was a drawing I sent her since she really liked Ariel. She had a tough journey from the age of 3 with a failed bone marrow transplant and a relaspe (the last I heard)and I hope she is pain free and happy in Heaven. I hope you all can take a minute to think about her as you see this page. Katie will also be added to the dedication list.
Hug your children this Christmas, or just be grateful for the health you have.
