K-Corp is actually a Japanese/American company in the fine tradition of Weyland-Yutani and similar evil companies. The commandos here are actually american but Ms. Tsunoda insists all the company people up speak Japanese. Most of the people here however are more comfortable with English which is why it is more commonly spoken by Karen and most people in the town.
