That back pack of her's was supposed to make her look like a moogle from behind but I don't think the effect ever worked properly.

Consiquently when I designed my second magic cat girl, Karen from Fantasy Side I wrote some moogle influence into her character description which Fiona played up nicely making it clear what we were going for to FF fans but also making the look uniquely our own. Sadly however some people didn't seem to apreciate the fact that look was entirely due to choice and not due to a lack of creativity on our part so I've avoided any visual nods to things I like in character designs since then since except in clearest parody.
