Setar: A typical city in the desert

Foremost, they probably use claw dirt and mud for the main part of their houses. Stones may be inside that to make it more sturdy. The outside is probably built up, and the inside is where all doors and such face.
Wood is a little sparce, but hey, they're more likely to use it for the sake of the city. Aka ladders.
This one is probably built upon an underground well. This is more of the church area of the city. See that tapastry next to the only place with a rug out front? That's there 'church'. Though the only thing the worship is the people who are healthy and such. Since they think that the deitys are evil and betrayed them. They also think magic users are their pet monsters.

The buildings are marked with the owner's proffession too. Mostly because I doodled the one on the right in the foreground and thought it looked cool.
Row one, Left to Right: House things/toys/nicknacks, hospitally person + Astrologer (The three dots part of it), and a tailor. (That guy sewing. n.n)
Row two, Left to Right: Hair cutter/does other prettifing things, a 'Monster Hunter'. ( :/ )
Row three, Left to Right: Those two were just mindless doodles.

Oh! I should talk about the people too.
Foreground: a girl, probably the proffession of 'monster hunter', or caravan gaurd, or the even the normal kind of hunter.
The girl waving to her: Strikes me as not the adventurous sort, so perhaps just a heavy lifter and mover of things. Maybe a caravan gaurd or normal hunter as well.
The guy walking down the alley with a bowl: That's a guy, yup. And that top he's wearing is the church uniform. Which I also recognise a certain villian from Alixixi's story wearing.
The guy sewing: Yes, that's a guy. Setarian men are femine, okay? XD In any cause, he's probably the tailor, or an apprentice tailor.
Girl in background: She's close enough to the hunter sign I assume she is.

Well, done with that, now what do I say? Oh yeah! Blue dyes are kinda rare and hard to get, but red and browns are easy to dig up sediments or dirt that have those shades.
Um… Hmn… now what?
Oh yeah! Churchy boy and Tailor Boy are probably both married already. And in the desert marrying is a little different. Multiple girls cling onto guys, and if he likes them, poof their married. Well, there isn't any ceremony, being short of supplies, he just gives the girls something as proof of marrige. It can be whatever, but is likely something hard to get that is given to the more prized wifeys.

However once married it is definately the girls that wear the pants of the relationship. The cuddle and take care of him like prized fine china, and dress up and all that sort.
So, yeah, in the end they're still likely to marry who they like, (As well as who the other wives get along with well enough.)

Oh, also the people in general are very nice and accepting, with one exeception. If you're not the typical non-magic Setarian, you won't just be shunned, you'll be hunted down. Oh, if it's a kid that's a 'monster' as they call them, then the might raise them on the pretense that when they grow up they'll go insane and murderous. And the kid has to live with that. *Cough*Alixixi*Cough*
