I letter the pages by hand. I have a layer that I call letter guide, which is just a bunch of parallel lines. I super-imposed a marvel comic and based the spacing of the parallel lines based on the size of the marvel comic's font. I do a "pencil" version of the words, then an "inked" version as the final. It's work, but I like the change of pace as compared to regular comic art.

Not exactly sure why I like lettering by hand, but I have a lot of fun doing it. There's a nice randomness to it that makes it unique. Although when I think about the results… and comparing it to fonts… the quality is almost negligible compared to fonts… especially fonts done well.
