In my pursuit of coloring mastery, I decided to do the greyscale coloring first and layer in the other other colors afterwards. It did save time, as we realized I hadn't been consistent with colors of the previous page, so I was able to edit the color with minimal effort, since half the work was done already… so it was just a matter of changing the base color.
I still feel like I'm just faking my coloring, though. Like I don't really know what I'm doing when I'm coloring. Since then I watched a compositing video that helped me learn more about lighting and the difference between multiply and screening.Basically multiply is coloring by darkening, and screnening is coloring by lightening… very cool when thinking about light.
Never got to try the compositing method I learned in Lynda.com, but I'm very interested in trying out Marco Bucci's coloring system…https://www.youtube.com/user/marcobucci
Next page is the last page for a while… thought we'd make it to end of year, but guess I didn't have enough gas in the tank… Still working on the same page I have been for weeks. lol. I should just stop playing this stupid game…
Anyhoo enjoy!
