this page took me… *counts on fingers* 11 hours to complete, 5 yesterday and 6 today. With my every-other-day update schedule, this basically means that if I want to keep my pages looking like this, I pretty much have to work on this comic all day, every day. I don't know how that's gonna work, but I guess I'll figure something out…
I'm going to be editing this again later, I just had an idea. I'm gonna go a different way about the text. People have different voices, so it's easy to figure out who's talking even when we're not looking - like what is happening the third panel, right? Well, a person's handwriting is a representation of their voice, isn't it? It hit me as I was putting all this text together, that my handwriting is way too girly for Aaron's speech. So, I figured I would use different handwritings for the different characters. This means I'll have to ask for other people to help out, but I think the results will be kind of cool. I won't expect you to rely entirely on the handwriting to understand a scene, or ask you to memorize what everyone's "voice" looks like, but I think it's like an extra hint - just a little detail that's gonna help the story feel more natural.
Oh! As you can tell, I decided to give Aude a different face. Whenever I tried to draw her realistically, those big lips looked so strange on her… so I decided to give her a face that suited her personality better. I like her much more this way.
