…apparently, they also don't see a problem with carrying potential gifts around RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE PERSON THEY'RE GOING TO GIVE THEM TOO. This was necessary to fit all the important elements onto one page, but it still bugs me.

While we have no such family tradition over here, I've always enjoyed trying to come up with totally unexpected gifts when I can. I mean, lists are great and all, but you can only be so surprised when you get exactly what you asked for, right? Besides, the whole act of holiday hunting is all the more challenging when even you don't know what you're looking for. Of course, as seen here, this requires a VERY good understanding of the person you're buying for… not to mention enough cash to afford multiple gifts. (Yes, I take Christmas gifts VERY seriously)
