Children can only survive so long in the desert without any food, shelter, and perhaps someone to keep them sane while constantly being hunted.


We get a glimpse at who's behind most of this. But he looks relatively human, doesn't he?

[Note: Vincent isn't supposed to have the "Elf ears" headgear in the flash back panel, but I couldn't be bothered to practically do the entire strip again when I realized this. (It was already saved over, and took me an hour to get it the way I wanted it to. Therefore, in the flash back, he was fully human)
