This is the cover page to Fried Ice Cream is a Reality. It was a collaborative bit that I did with my little sister Cheryl. I'm coloring the whole shebang and reposting it for your viewing pleasure.
My original idea for this book was to have a bunch of artist buddies I know submit one page of comic art. I would then unite the pages together in one storyline somehow. I was listening to a lot of jazz at the time and I was really into the idea of having a loose, partially improvised comic book where various artists each got a "solo".
But, well, the only person who didn't chump out on me was Cheryl. She gave me a bunch of pages from an abandoned comics project she was working on that centered on the apocalypse. Pretty much all of her art used in this comes from there.
Cheryl's only stipulations for using her art in this was that she would get her proper credit and that I would shoehorn a hair metal band into the story somehow.
Anyways, this cover image was on the front page of Cheryl's art portfolio at the time.
