Father Will Come And Set Me Free

Fried Ice Cream is a Reality Page 17
Air Raid Robertson onThis page was altered somewhat from the black and white original. And no, it's not just the addition of color.
You see, the first version of this page was just a picture of the woman repeated several times over. When it came time to color Fried Ice Cream is a Reality I thought to use a different set of hues on each static image of this woman. It would produce a sort of Warholian effect on her as she described the end of the world as we know it.
But, well, that didn't really work out. In order to make the color stick, I would have to negate Cheryl's detail work on the woman. This seemed wrong. So, I instead drew a brand new picture of the monsters from the previous page. I slapped one of the lady pictures on the top corner, and that was that.
So yeah, that's a brand new picture of the monsters that I drew today. It's the only bit of linework in this entire book that wasn't done a couple of years ago.
Thanks to the magic of prismacolor markers and Adobe Illustrator tweaking I have made it blend in with the other pages fairly well. (I hope)
Unfortunately, a lot of Cheryl's nicer detail work was lost when I ran the image through my usual channels of Adobe filters. This kind of makes my entire effort kinda pointless.
Oh well.
