I don't know if they are supposed to be puritans or what. All that matters is that Doctors in those days were more or less useless, if not more harmful, to the patient.

    They may have been useless but they at least tried to cure everything with whiskey. God bless those pioneers in science.

    A really good witch would have been much more useful than a doctor in those days.

    Not to mention they probably only cleaned their instruments when they got really filthy, no one knew about germs in those days.
