I've wondered about it a lot, and I think that the only way hypnotism can really take hold of someone is if they feel like they're in a dream, because if you think about it, in a dream, things that make no sense can happen and you'd never question them. I've only realized I was having a dream two or three times. The last time I was holding my organs in my hands and running them under a faucet (this was right after reading Dante's Inferno and disecting fetal pigs)
