DOMOVOI

Out of German folklore, the Domovoi were house spirits, generally benevolent, but creatures that you did not want to cross or make angry. They were generally depicted as small, furry old men.

In the FFC world, Domovoi are the Dark's source of magic (meaning they rely on it almost entirely, and so will use it frequently in battles) They have appeared already as the cat-like people that are in the introduction.

When Chaerius says they are all dead, he speaks the truth. Domovoi cannot hide themselves like vampires (who look fairly human to begin with) and werewolves (who can change form) so they were all killed off when humans purged creatures of magic.
