i can't wait for this semester to be over. today begins finals week at my college and i can't be happier to get out. not because i am looking forward to christmas or getting home or seeing my friends, but to close this chapter in my life.
i've had one hell of a semseter (and summer preceding it) that i won't get into, but only say that i am happy to end it. it was ironic because as that Hellish time in my life was going on, i was drawing a comic about an angel going through hell. now, please don't think that i (while feeling like i myself was going through hell) decided to use the comic as a coping mechanism. in fact, the obligation of the comic was just another monkey on my back. no, i have (and continue to) plan on the story months in advance and write whole story arcs before i even begin to draw them.
it was merely a strange conincidence that my character metaphorically mirrored myself (did you like that alliteration?). but then again, i don't much believe in coincidences.
