I’ve alluded several times to Max being a good swordsman. This happened partially because there were no guns on Dystopia. But also because Landon trained him with the sword as a way to activate his Chi. The Albi use “elemental focuses.” Landon, for example, can do things involving fire. But, as he says, it would take way too long to teach a human to do such things (that said, it probably took Landon a hundred years to learn as well).
