What a surreal weekend. One of my favorite creators, Tom Beland, his sister suddenly passed away. His autobio comics True Story Swear to God was very influential for me, especially when I first started uploading Warlord online.
Like many of his readers, I kind of felt like I knew her through his comics, some of my favorite moments from the series involved her. So in a weird way, when he broke the news that she had suddenly passed away, it felt like a sucker punch hit me out of nowhere, and I didn't even really know her, and felt overwhelmingly sad for him and his family.
There are a few trades that collected his original comic strips (True Stories Swear to God: 100 Stories) and trades of the comic series True Story Swear to God from his original imprint Clib's Boy Comics and one from Image Comics, and there's also the graphic novel Chicacabra from IDW, if anyone ever happens to run into these comics, they really are excellent, at least for me.
