01-21 Sneaking past the checkpoints

I finally bought a WACOM pen and tablet. I really like it but it will take a while for my art to adapt to the new interface. Using the pen is so much easier than using the mouse, but it changes my ink and shading style. I don't rely on line art as much. And the way the tablet handles pressure is amazing but inconsistent to the absolute size of a mouse pen. The lines didn't ink where I expected them to ink or quite in the size I wanted them to be.

I worked a lot on the lap top, instead of my desktop. The monitors are calibrated differently, so this page turned out much darker than I expected.

This is a page where the dialog changed dramatically from the original text. I found that the images told the action of the story, so the dialog could be unhinged to tell more abstract elements. I got to elaborate on Ruun's somewhat introverted personality.

Also, I found that Flicr.com is a great source of ruins and destroyed building pics, pics of electric cars and fantastic buildings. And body paints and most everything else.
