I was browsing the web a few days ago when I came across an ad from Japanime, a manga and anime media production company, telling me they were looking for submissions for artwork to put into the second volume of their "Manga Without Borders" book series. Given that the focus of the book is on up-and-coming manga writers (such as myself) from around the world, I'm gonna try for it. At the very least, I'll be getting a mention in the book and a professional critique, so even if I don't make it in I'll still benefit from this, and that means better artwork for you guys to look at, so we all win, really.

I told you there would be a few surprises. One, I changed the font for character speech. Unless I hear claims to the contrary, I'm going to assume that this font is a keeper, and I'll be using it in future pages.

The computer desktop was made entirely in Photoshop, and only the background wasn't made by me (it's a false color image of the Cerberus Fossae on Mars taken by NASA, so it's public domain). I'm pleased with the results (especially the scan lines), and I had fun doing pixellating Sharqi's face (because when you're the leader of a criminal enterprise, it's best to conceal your identity, hence the poor image quality and digitally altered voice).

Again, sorry about the wait folks. I'm thinking of taking down the demotivationals, but that's yet another thing I'd like your input on. I know that this was a long post, but a lot has happened since the last update.
