Well, yesterday I learned that my health insurance got revoked on October 1st, and this is due to the fact that I'm not a full-time student (never mind the fact that I can't afford to go to school, lacking in income and all that). As a result, I was forced to spend my day researching my options instead of finishing this long overdue page. I've applied for jobs at a couple places, but I don't expect anything to come of them.

Unlike most countries in the world, the United States doesn't have a national health care system available to everyone. Instead, we have these private, for-profit insurance companies that are not required by law to cover everyone sufficiently for a reasonable premium. Because I'll probably be working full-time somewhere or going back to school (or a possible third option, joining the National Guard), I don't think I'll be able to update as often as scheduled. I'm thinking that I'll probably end up doing one page a week, updating on Tuesdays. I'd like to be able to stick to my schedule, of course, but the reality of the situation makes that impossible.

On the other hand, you get to see what a page looks like when it's still a work-in-progress. Hopefully this sneak peek will keep you curious about what happens next (while I try to finish it before Tuesday and pull my life back together again).
