40-1: About the Lab...

Who guessed that Gary's lab was his sister's room? Anybody? Purple walls, anybody? Anybody? I tried to make it girly enough without being TOO girly.

Anyway, apologies for being late with tonight's comic. I was a bit sluggish, largely because I distracted myself with reading Questionable Content, which is the exact opposite of making MY OWN comics, in that I was reading instead of drawing, and Jeph Jacques is actually funny.

So anyway, this storyline was going to go one of two ways. One was the original way as I intended, which will be how it's actually playing out, and another would have presented a full new layer (or not) to the series, wherein his mother actually finds out that Gary is keeping what appears to be a shaved rabbit in his sister's room.

Which would have inevitably led back to the shed thing, but it would've crammed the whole moving storyline into two weeks, while dealing with his mother (this week) and his sister (next week), and it's all just to much at once. So let's take the slow path and assume it'll get there eventually. In the meantime, borrowed jokes and a promise that next week will be better. Because there will finally be a change of scenery, that's not just blank assumed-school backgrounds or blank assumed-lab backgrounds. I will be drawing SHELVES! Ohhh joy.

Maybe I'll just make it a side-table. I don't know.

Any recommendations for the color of the shed interior? So far, my best bet is gray. Which doesn't help offset it from school.

So here we go! I've got some fun things planned over the summer. Next school year will have new characters, which will potentially take the entire series into a new direction (while still being funny, I hope). Wish me luck?
