74-1: By The Tree I Wait

Originally, this week was going to involve another thing with the imp, but my brain is so damn tired that I couldn't put up with coming up with yet another alchemy-based plot just yet. And I couldn't just continue the chemistry thing, because dwelling on a concept for more than a week seems idiotic, plus I'm going to be doing something with it soon enough anyway. So I'm taking a break from the normal and dipping back into something fun.

If you'll recall back to Week 65, the comic for Friday featured a scene of this kid packing snow around the Golem. I liked the idea of the big hunk of clay unwittingly befriending the kid - it reminds me of Melody & Macabre, I guess - so I thought I'd come back to it.

Sorry, Frankenstein fans, the kid's going to come out of this safely.

Originally I was considering something about how big the golem was, but it seemed like too obvious a joke, plus it would have set up Wednesday's comic which ruins the whole joke of it. I also wanted the kid to mention how the golem doesn't talk much, then I remembered it was a joke from Up, and I didn't think it was appropriate to repeat it just for the sake of comedy. So this one is more cute than funny.
