Dammit, Gary.
I've been looking forward to this two-week storyline for a good while now.  The Prom is often the climax of high school movies.  Shit goes down, and the two main couple is crowned king and queen!
Yeah, to hell with that.  My prom sucked, I don't see why we should make it anything special.
(Still, this will be fun.)
Jean's expression is fairly recent in the writing process, but most certainly reflects the feelings some of you may have in this situation.  Though not with the knowledge of last week's events.
Meanwhile, Gary probably interpreted it differently from you, thinking he was just about to see what it is, and then… "Ah damn, I'm awake.  Why is Edy here?"
