Three out of four people in my household didn't get this joke. -_- I don't care. I'll share it with the 25% of people who might actually appreciate it. My mom liked it, but she'll laugh at anything. (Plus, she grew up with "the space race" and anything related to that makes her feel nostalgic.)
The inspiration for today's strip is related to a training thing I went to last week. I spent two intense days getting certified to lead canoe tours. One evening, we had a moonlight canoe trip around the lake, and our leader asked the question "During the last trip to the moon, what did the astronauts leave behind?" No one knew, so I quipped "A mousetrap?" (One person laughed. -_- ) The answer is a hammer and a falcon feather. I started pondering the things people left up there (cosmic litterbugs…). I was originally going to do a strip about my lunar mousetrap idea, but I couldn't visualize the gag, so I did this instead. – Oh, and the little white things are not moon rocks (as my sister thought). If anyone can identify them and why they're on the moon, I'll give you, um, cyber cookies.
