For this week, I wanted to do a Father's Day strip. I brainstormed fathers and science, and my first thought was "paternity test." After that, I came up with about a half dozen paternity test gags. This one stood out to me the most and presented the clearest picture in my head. Plus, I really wanted to try my hand at that first panel.

I figure most people know this scene. For those who don't, Vader is responding to Luke's remark that Obi Wan said Vader killed his father. Interestingly, Vader's line was not in the original script. Lucas wanted to keep this twist a secret, so the original line read "No, Obi Wan Kenobi killed your father." It wasn't changed to the real line until James Earl Jones did the voice-over after filming.

What? Stop looking at me like that! I am not a dork!
