This week's strip was inspired by a conversation I overheard in one of the museums where I work. A man looking at the bone needles and other artifacts remarked, "Archaeologists in the future will be digging this stuff up again." The guy he was talking to didn't seem to understand, but it hit a whimsical note with me. What would happen at a dig site where a museum stood? Of course, we have written records, so they'd probably know it was a museum, and carbon dating would remove all other misconceptions. But it's still fun to muse over.
