I'm not sure what strange dark alley of my mind come up with this week's strip, but, um, here it is!

I had a phone interview Saturday with a national park in Nebraska. One of the cool things about that park is that is contains the largest restored tall grass prairie in the park system (and the second largest in the country). I find fire-dependent ecosystems fascinating, and I considered making that the topic of this week's strip.

However, we had duck flambe just a couple weeks ago, and I wasn't in the mood for more fire quite yet.

I should hear back from the park within the next week or two. I am also expecting to hear from Arkansas state parks by this Friday. Either position would be temporary/seasonal, but I'm still quite anxious to hear back and find out in which time zone I will be spending my summer.

Not to be cynical, but given the competition, I will most likely be spending another summer here with my parents. (Trying to be realistic. I don't want to get my hopes up.)
