I love overhearing conversations in museums. This is not one I've heard, but it easily could be. ^_~

Of course, what this man is saying isn't true! Dinosaurs are not all dead. The most accepted theory (though there is a lot of debate, as with all things in science) is that birds are an extant clade of dinosaurs. This is based on a lot of physical features, fossil evidence, genetic studies, etc. I won't get technical, but I find the study of cladistics especially fascinating.

Oh, and a lot of species have almost literally been eaten to extinction – including several species of bird. Maybe he's not so far off the mark.
