Thanks for being patient with me. It was a productive trip. There are some great people working in VA state parks this year! (Seriously, go visit if you're in the area.) As promised, here are some pictures:
About this week's strip: I don't watch CSI or NCIS or any of those shows. It's weird because I love mystery shows and crime drama and all sorts of things like that. My dad and brother both love CSI, but I just can't get into it. Anyway, a couple weeks ago, we were channel surfing, and ended up on one of those shows for a minute. The first thing to come to mind (and spill out of my mouth) was "Don't these police stations ever pay their electric bills?"
And yes, I know it's for "atmosphere" but I think it's actually the atmosphere that I don't like about these shows. I'd prefer a confrontation in the parlor of a big classy mansion. (As if that's any more realistic. Lol.) Of course, real crime labs are very well illuminated with florescent lights and usually set in rooms the size of a closet. Also, in real life, most labs are technologically and financially limited, and most cases go unsolved, and no one really cares – despite that most real criminals are not at all clever.
Oh, and since someone always asks. The screen says "DNA" followed by a random ATCG sequence. The papers on the back lab bench read, "These are very important papers. They contain lots of words. Small words and ginormous ones" and "Page two contains numbers 1…4…8 987…2 87…63"
